Part night club, part restaurant, The Park occupies a mindboggling warren of high-ceilinged rooms carved out of what used to be a taxi garage. Pretty people who pay attention to designer labels predominate, hobnobbing in the lovely outdoor lounge forested with trees and plants. Upstairs is dancing. It's a different animal during the day, far less frenetic, when you can stop in after walking the High Line or shopping at Jeffrey and dish over salads, burgers, rigatoni with braised spare ribs or a very good lamb meatball sandwich. The Mediterranean-American menu alters seasonally. Eric Goode and Sean MacPherson (The Jane, the Maritime, The Bowery Hotel, Waverly Inn) are the impresarios behind it.
