Tompkinsville is a small Staten Island neighborhood with an outsize culinary reputation. Authentic roti and spicy sambol abound in the area thanks to a thriving Sri Lankan community.
From the St. George Ferry Terminal, walk south along Bay Street toward Victory Boulevard or ride one stop on the Staten Island Railway to the Tompkinsville station.
Tompkinsville has earned the nickname Little Sri Lanka due to its Sri Lankan population, one of the world’s largest outside the island nation itself.
