It wouldn’t be the Fourth of July in New York City without the annual Macy’s fireworks show, which made its debut in 1976 to commemorate the nation's bicentennial. Thousands of shells will launch from barges in the East River near the Brooklyn Bridge synchronized to music from Hollywood's greatest films, including a new version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Jennifer Hudson. Expect the fireworks show to start at approximately 9:20pm.
