An elegant glass of wine, discriminating snack and a quiet, plush setting can be had at Aldo Sohm Wine Bar, a prime Midtown destination. This Le Bernardin spin-off is the brainchild of Sohm, the restaurant's longtime wine director. The modern, high-ceilinged, art-filled room is perfect for group gatherings, business tête à têtes and ladies who, uhm, wine. Service is convivial and professional, though less formal than at Le Bernardin, and much less expensive. Of the 30 European and California wines by the glass, several go for under $15. Charcuterie and cheese selections, organic chicken drumsticks, mini boudin blanc and spicy lamb merquez with pita are under $20. Keep this place in mind if you need a pre-theater nosh or something near Rockefeller Center.
