NYC - The Official Guide

Charm, connections, persistence, harassment—use whatever it takes if you're dying to join the Bohemian club. True food lovers will find a way in. This Japanese-owned restaurant is secreted behind a Japanese butcher (they are not associated, although the restaurant purchases the butcher shop's meat) and has an unlisted number. They might not respond to email. Still, 25 seats fill up every night. This NoHo building was once the home of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, so it's appropriate that Bohemian's walls are splashed with modern art. The room has mid-century modern touches, a take-your-time ethos and a stylish staff. Both an à la carte and prix-fixe menu are available, and sharing is recommended. The food is artful, as one would expect, featuring high-quality beef sliders, beef tartare and pristine seafood. Exotic cocktails are also exquisite.
