This casual taqueria is wise to keep in mind if you're looking for something good and cheapish before or after a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The food is accomplished and amazingly tasty, from quesadillas oozing with cheese to braised veal tongue tacos to rich flan for dessert. Instead of your average rice and beans, expect healthy organic quinoa alongside locally grown black beans. The boxy room is livened up with Mexican masked-wrestling gear and a counter with a variety of salsas in varying degrees of heat. The wine and beer list is above average as well.
