Chef Dan Kluger gained a devout following at ABC Kitchen and ABC Cocina for his seasonal, vegetable-forward dishes. When Loring Place opened in Greenwich Village at the end of 2016, his acolytes faithfully turned up, keeping the modern, minimalist space packed. Among the most popular items are grilled sourdough with baked ricotta and sweet kabocha squash, lamb chops charred in the wood-burning oven, and pizza with brussels sprouts and aged cheddar. Flavors are bright and multilayered. The restaurant is named for the Bronx street Kluger’s father grew up on, and his sunny, professional staff makes it feel like a family affair.
