Mann has been a critics’ darling for the whole of her 25-year solo career. The singer-songwriter writes quietly cutting songs that explore human frailty; she can rock, too. That’s something the other band on the bill, indie heroes Superchunk, does awfully well. They’re celebrating their first album release in five years.
