In honor of the 25th anniversary of Queens Pride, born in Jackson Heights in 1993, this exhibit showcases the Queens LGBTQ+ community from the 1990s to the present. The exhibit is comprised of flyers, video footage and audio recollections from the LaGuardia and Wagner Archives at LaGuardia Community College, as well as photographs from the personal archive of photographer and filmmaker Richard Shpuntoff. Together with contemporary photographs, the exhibit showcases the growth of the Queens Pride Parade from a community event with 1,000 marchers to a festival that attracts crowds of more than 40,000.
