Sweat tackles socio-economic issues with heart and charm. When layoffs hit a factory in Reading, Pennsylvania, a group of friends and coworkers struggle to maintain their relationships. Coming straight from a successful Off-Broadway run at the Public Theater, Sweat was written by Lynn Nottage, who has won a Guggenheim Fellowship, MacArthur Grant and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama (for her play Ruined).
