May 17, 2017 marks 225 years since 24 stock brokers signed the so-called Buttonwood Agreement that set the parameters of trading that led to the creation of the New York Stock Exhange. Items on display in this exhibit include early bond and stock certificates, correspondence, portraits of traders, and views of Wall Street and the Tontine Coffee House. The exhibit is complemented by video clips drawn from Remembering Wall Street, 1950-1980.
