Every other year, the Guggenheim and Hugo Boss join forces to present this award to an artist working in any medium anywhere in the world, with no restrictions on age or nationality. The 2018 award went to NYC-based, Chicago-born contemporary artist Simone Leigh, for bringing to light the struggles of women of color. This exhibition of her work includes a series of sculptures, a sound installation and text by historian Saidiya Hartman.
