The Rubin Museum’s sound-focused exhibition focuses on how our ability to hear shapes our daily lives, traditions and how we’ve functioned throughout history. Works from more than 20 artists—including site-specific installations and works from prominent sound artists—are presented alongside historical objects from the museum’s Tibetan Buddhist art collection, all with the goal of reshaping how we think about sound and how hearing alters our perception of our world.
